The Telangana government is planning for a large scale celebrations of Bathukamma festival and yesterday it sanctioned Rs 10 crores for the event. TRS Nizamabad MP Kavitha who addressed the media said, the government decided to invite all the top most female politicians, chief ministers, Governors across the nation to participate in the festival which was recently declared as the state festival. However, the Telangana Congress party is upset with this as Congress president Sonia's name was not included in the list of invitees.
Telangana women Congress leaders Geetha Reddy, DK Aruna, Sabitha Indra Reddy and Sunitha Laxma Reddy criticised this decision and demanded to send the first invitation to Sonia Gandhi. “It was Sonia Gandhi who took all the blame and granted Telangana state despite the hurdles. Because of the formation of the state, TRS came into power and now KCR is showing his real face to the Congress president. If Sonia Gandhi is denied invitation, then all the Congress leaders will boycott government's Bathukamma festival,” said the leaders.
Will Telangana government send invitation to Sonia Gandhi or not, let's see!
