Union Human Resource Development minister Smriti Irani might be the Delhi BJP chief ministerial candidate, according to the highly reliable sources. Delhi Assembly which is dissolved very recently, will go for fresh elections in January or February while the leadership of BJP is considering to surprise everyone by bringing her name in.
As of now there are four strong contenders for the CM post and they are Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Delhi BJP president Dr Satish Upadhyay, party’s leader from Janakpuri Dr Jagdish Mukhi and Rajya Sabha member Vijay Goel. However, the internal competition within the members as led National President Amit Shah to intervene in this issue.
Smriti Irani who is a close associate of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah might be considered anytime and it will be added advantage for the BJP, if Smriti's name is officially announced. Amit Shah who met the party workers yesterday in Delhi was reportedly not happy over the severe competition for the chief minister post. He directed every leader and worker to work united and help the party to be on the winning side. Also Shah did not make any comments regarding the CM candidate.
