Akula Lalitha is going to contest as an MLC candidate from the Congress party. Regarding this, the official announcement was already made by the party officials.

After the announcement, immediately, there are few controversies that raised in the Greater Congress party. Firstly, it is former minister and party senior leader, Danam Nagendar who was hurt deeply and resigned from the post of 'Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee(GHCC) leader.

On Wednesday evening, he sent his resign letter to AICC (All India Congress Committee) chief and state in-charge of the party, Mr. Digvijay Singh.

Nizamabad candidate cannot benefit the party- Danam

Speaking to the media, Danam Nagendar said, that GHMC elections are going to be held very soon and at this stage, the candidate from greater limits would be perfect to contest for the elections, but not Akula Lalitha who is a Nizamabad candidate. In this situation where the competition is heavy from the TRS party too, a candidate from the greater limits would benefit the party, he opined.

D. Srinivas or Sabitha would be better- Danam

“I'm not against Akula Lalitha. The thing is, Shabbir Ali is a candidate for the same district. So how can the officials consider another candidate from the same district, at least D. Srinivas might do the job better if given an opportunity, as Seemandhra people are in a mood of showing him sympathy”, he further opined.

Chances of losing are more- Danam

If the centre is that concerned about the ladies, then Sabitha Indra Reddy might have been considered as she is strong in 12 greater municipalities. But, with Lalitha, there is no question of facing TRS, there is an every chance of losing in the elections, Danam strongly said.
