National Outcry on Geelani’s passport issue - No traces of Support even from hardline activists

“Send him where he says, "is born" and let him apply for passport from there”.
“Let him apply for passport of country to which he believed, as belonged and move to that country. Why is this mess sitting in our country and exploiting the decency of the country?”
Above mentioned is the reaction from many Indians when hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani stated that he is not an Indian, but it’s a compulsion to get the passport done.
The outraged Indian Community expressed their anger through their flurry of tweets.
Geelani arrived at Srinagar Passport Seva Kendra at the scheduled time of his appointment at 10:15 am today. Geelani applied for the passport few months back to visit his allied daughter, who stays in Saudi Arabia, along with his wife.
"Geelani submitted his biometric data - finger prints and iris scan - at the designated counter," an official of the Regional Passport Office here said.
Earlier BJP opposed the plea and clarified that it will consider the request only if Geelani apologizes for his anti-national activities. However, its ally PDP had lent its support and former chief minister Omar Abdullah had said it was not an issue as Geelani had been given passport in the past too.
