The death count at the Pushkar ghats in Andhra Pradesh is increasing minute to minute and currently it reached 27.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is deeply hurt by the number of deaths at the Pushkar ghats. Speaking to the meeting, Naidu announced Rs.10 lakhs as the ex-gratia for each dead victim’s family, feeling emotional.
Oppositions target Naidu for deaths at Pushkaraalu
The Congress party officials like Raghuveera Reddy and Chiranjeevi had busted out on Naidu saying that, it is completely Andhra Pradesh’s government’s responsibility and demanded the resignation of Naidu as a Chief Minister.
Reacting to the issue, Chiranjeevi said that, he will be visiting the Pushkaram spot and console the families of the dead victims. He even opined that, “Andhra Pradesh government has promoted Pushkaraalu in a big way and also estimated that, lakhs of people would turn to it. Even then, the government failed to create proper facilities at the Pushkar ghats. TDP government completely failed in conducting Pushkaraalu.”
Serious action on Pushkar ghat management - Naidu
On the other side, AP CM Naidu strongly said, “after the completion of 12 days of Pushkaraalu, I will take very serious action against the management at the Pushkar ghats.” He even met the death victims’ families and consoled them.
As the incident has turned viral, it would be better if the AP government treats it as a wakeup call and concentrate more on the safety measures at the pushkar ghats.
