Dawood’s former lawyer Ram Jethmalani said that, Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim wanted to surrender to the police, if provided the same facilities provided to Chhota Rajan.
It is known that, Chhota Rajan, the past aide and present rival of Dawood Ibrahim, was caught and yesterday, he was even brought to Delhi, under high security. Chhota Rajan said that, he had a threat from Dawood and his gang and so sought proper protection.
The officials then analysed that, several gangs of Dawood in the various jails of Mumbai and other major cities in India, wanted Rajan dead. Realizing this, reportedly, they are considering a house arrest for Rajan.
Meanwhile, Dawood’s former lawyer has come forward with a shocking news stating that, Dawood and Shakeel want to surrender, only if they are not lodged in Arthur road jail, but a house arrest, claiming that, they too have threat from others.
Jethmalani further said that, Sharad Pawar, the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has refused Dawood’s offer of surrender.
Responding to it, Pawar said, “Ram Jethmalani had given a proposition that's true, but it was conditional. He had put such a condition wherein Dawood would not have been arrested if he had come to India. You cannot not arrest a person who has so many cases against him. Everybody needs to follow the law, but Jethmalani ji did not accept the suggestion.”
Dawood and Shakeel are the most wanted terrorists, who are the reason for the loss of hundreds of innocent lives in the past. The Indian officials are in search of those, since decades.
Though Dawood got ready to surrender, Pawar refused the conditions for his surrender. After Yakub Memon’s hanging recently, Dawood aide Shakeel warned that, there would be serious consequences for hanging innocent Yakub, for the crime committed by his brother Tiger Memon.
He even reminded about Dawood’s surrender offer and said Indian officials did not care about it. So India would be facing the consequences.
Now the thing is, if at all, the terrorists perform any violence in the country, would not it be the Indian officials, who would be cornered finally? So the analysts say that, it would be better if the officials accept Dawood’s surrender offer and arrest him, before any serious consequences takes place in the country.
