Telangana government is planning to implement strict rules, against the people responsible for the road accidents in the state.
The government is imposing new rules, as the road accidents are increasing day by day and the loss is severe. It is even considering imprisonment for the people responsible for the accident.
Transport minister Mahendar Reddy has unofficially said that, the traffic rules that are being followed in the foreign countries would now be implemented in the state too.
As per the current road traffic rules in Telangana, there is just a minimum amount, the people responsible for accidents, pay. But Minister said that, the fine would be up to Rs. 10000 in the coming days. Even they would be responsible to pay huge amount to the people, who got injured because of their negligence.
Along with the above, if it is the first time, the person committed the road accident, a red mark would be registered. Upon completing three such red marks (3 times road accident), a life ban on his or her license would be imposed.
The officials are even planning to arrange a Centre in every revenue division. If the officials find any fault in the fitness of the vehicle, then the consequences would be more severe.
The concerned vehicle would be sent to the fitness centre and if there are any faults in it, the vehicle owner, has to pay double the amount as fine, for the repairing works.
Not stopping there, the officials are even planning to set up the restrooms on the highway, to benefit the needy.
In the state, the government already identified 71 accident prone areas in 10 main roads. The government has decided to use the services of private hospitals, near by, those roads. For this entire process, the government would use IT services.
This initiative from the government is definitely a positive sign, but it seems, the possibility of implementation is a question, due to the prevailing corruption in the state.
