The reason behind Sheshu Kumar kidnapping Abhay Modani and demanding ransom, was because of his desire to become a film star.
Earlier in the last week, it was known that, Abhay, a 10th class student was kidnapped by a group of three members named Sheshu Kumar, 20, from East Godavari, Pondara Ravi, 21, and N. Rammohan, 23, both from Srikakulam.
In 2014, all the three members had met in Ranchi, as the co-workers in MLM company. As he allegedly felt tough to make money in that company, Sheshu left the job later and worked for about six months in Adilabad.
Speaking about Sheshu, Hyderabad police commissioner M. Mahender Reddy said, “Sheshu and his friends Ravi and Mohan watched the Tollywood film Oka Romantic Prema Katha a few days before the kidnap. The film gave them the idea to kidnap someone and make money.”
After kidnapping Abhay, the culprits demanded the boy to say his parents phone number. Suspecting that he would raise an alarm, they tied his hands and legs with packing tape and unfortunately, as they even covered Abhay’s nose with tape, it was then, he lost his breath.
Feared over this, the kidnappers put the boy’s dead body in a carton and left the body opposite Secunderabad’s Alpha hotel.
