Catch Vijay Mallya first - Ticketless passenger says

A female train passenger who was caught traveling without ticket, refused to pay  Rs. 260 fine, saying that, the authorities should first concentrate on Vijay Mallya, who ran away, with several crores, rather than normal people like her.

After Premlata Bhansali of South Mumbai, who was traveling on Mumbai local ticketless, refused to pay the fine, she has been ordered for to be jailed for 7 days in Byculla prison.

Bhansali got into a heated argument with the rail authorities and police, and later on, wanted to be presented in front of a magistrate.

For all the charges read out by the Magistrate, Bhansali gave her nod, but even then refused to pay the fine, which now amounted to Rs. 1500.

On the humanitarian grounds, the court even reduced the fine to Rs. 460, but Bhansali kept saying, “The government does not nail the rich but are after the poor like me.”

After her rejection to pay, with no other option left, the Magistrate then sent her to police custody for 7 days. Bhansali has been strict with her decision and has said that, she would not pay the fine, even if she is jailed for six months or a year.
