HCU against Kanhaiya Kumar’s entry into university

Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) Chief, Kanhaiya Kumar has reached Hyderabad just a while, and said that he would be meeting Rohith Vemula’s mother today.

After Rohith, allegedly a dalit HCU student, has committed suicide in January, several politicians like Rahul Gandhi, and even Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal came in support of him. Now it is the turn of Kanhaiya Kumar, the latest big news maker, who was arrested upon the sedition charges and came out with bail, recently.

Here are the five latest developments, regarding the issue

1. After the violent protests of the students yesterday, among whom even key leaders of the protests are included, 25 students have been arrested today for damaging public property, illegally confining staff and attacking the police.

2. After seeking the police protection, the university officials released a statement saying that, from today all the gates will be closed down, except the University’s main entrance and will also not allow “media personnel, political groups, external students, organisations and politicians into the campus.”

3. The main gate gate, which is usually open, is closed today, and is being guarded by security personnel, who are closely scrutinizing all those who want to enter.

4. All classes at the university have been suspended till Monday next.

5. Kanhaiya said that, he would meet the students at around 6 pm today. However, HCU officials did not sanction any such permission for speech or association with the students.

So it to be seen, how the Students president manages to interact with the students. The analysts opine that, when the HCU issue has been forgotten and university proceedings are moving well, this type of movement from Kanhaiya, is just to create unnecessary disturbances in the law and order, but nothing else.
