Hyderabadi tortured to death in Saudi Arabia

A 25 year old Hyderabad girl was allegedly tortured to death by the employer in Saudi Arabia.

Asima Khatoon, a resident of Shah Colony in Dabeerpura Hyderabad, had left for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in the last December on a ‘house maid’ visa, procured via an agent. But the government had stopped issuing such visas, about two years ago.

She was in fact sent to Riyadh, on a business visit visa, for 90 days and was illegally kept there in confinement.

Since her departure, there was no information from the girl, but two months ago, she once contacted her family on phone and informed about the level of tortures she faced from her employer, Abdul Rahman Ali Mohammed, mentally and physically and urged them to rescue her, making arrangements for her return.

Worried over this, the family members approached, chief secretary of Telangana and it was through him, they made a request in writing to rescue their daughter.

Asima was tortured to death and she left her last breath, while undergoing treatment at King Saud Chest Diseases Hospital in Saudi Arabia.

Three days after the chief secretary’s letter, i.e., on Thursday, Asima’s family was informed about the girl’s death.
