Several cases have been filed in High Court against AP government for not acting properly regarding the Kapu agitation.
Chandu Janardhana Chandra Sekhar, founder chairman of the Akhila Bharatha Kapu Jagruthi Trust filed a writ petition. He complained that Mudragada Padmanabaham was arrested without following the due process as contemplated under the Criminal Procedure Code.
Ramachandra Murthy, director of Sakshi television, also moved the plea on his TV blockade. He said that the action of the AP government in blocking the telecast of Sakshi TV is illegal. It also violates fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution.
The TV was telecasting the arrest of the Mudragada Padmanabham and other related events. Addepalli Sridhar Lakshman, general secretary of All India Kapu, Balija Sangham moved the court stating that there were no adequate facilities or equipment at Rajahmundry for critical care management and fasting leader Padmanabham may be shifted to Hyderabad so that he can be admitted to NIMS.
