‘Treat Transfers as Responsibility not Burden’: AP CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu addressed a review meeting through video conference from his camp office in Vijayawada on Tuesday. The Chief Minister directed the collectors to sideline the inefficient employees.

In the meeting he announced that special incentives would be given to employees, who would come forward to work in Agency areas. He asked the employees to treat transfer as a responsibility but not a burden.

The Chief Minister also directed the Ministers, secretaries and collectors in this matter. He asked them to complete all the transfer process in a transparent manner in two days. Naidu also asked to select the best team of officials in key posts for efficient administration.

“Transfers are to establish best administration in the State. Priority should be given to development, welfare and satisfaction of people.”

Naidu warned the officials against considering favors in transfers and said that the transfers should be made merit-based.

Stating that the process of transfers has to be completed by Wednesday evening, he gave exception to Agriculture department due to commencement of kharif operations.

“Transfers in Agriculture department would be made taken up in August,” he added.

The Chief Minister rejected the appeal of the Education department for additional time to complete transfers and said that they should have completed the process before the start of the academic year.

He said in no differences will be made between Ministers and collectors in implementing transfers.

Minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that “employees should change their mindset of security and asserted that the government has the authority to transfer employees at any time.”

District in-charge Ministers, secretaries and collectors participated in the review meeting.
