In a shocking incident, the West Godavari police busted a burglary racket and arrested five persons at Bhimadole. The police also recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 60 lakh.

Addressing a media conference at District Police Office in Eluru on Friday afternoon, Superintendent of Police Bhaskar Bhushan said that "while conducting checks at Bhimadole railway gate on the National Highway, the Bhimadole Police found Gollapalli Nagamalleswara Rao (35), Gollapalli Nagaraju (40) of Eluru city and Dasari Bose Raju alias Bose (38) of Jangareddigudem wandering in a “suspicious manner”.The police took the tro into custody immediately and seized Rs 21.76 lakh and 440 grams of gold ornaments and one kg silver articles from them. Based on the information given by the accused, the police team led by Eluru DSP G Venkateswara Rao arrested Sheik Asleem Begum (52), Sheikh Sameera alias Suryakala (23) of Kajuluru village of East Godavari district."

SP said that "the five along with Sheikh Aziz (28), of Kajuluru village in East Godavari who is now at Rajamahendravaram Central Jail  and Sheikh Mastan Saheb (58) of the same village committed burglaries in Bhimadole, Eluru rural, Chebrole, Denduluru, Undrajavaram and Eluru two-town. He said that the police have arrested the remaining five persons and seized Rs 57.56 lakh cash, 520 grams of gold ornaments, eight kilograms of silver articles. The accused were involved in 17 burglaries under these police stations in the district."

The SP further said "main accused Naga Malleswara Rao has worked in a gold ornaments shop in Eluru and went to Visakhapatnam, where he murdered two persons. The police launched a search for Mastan Saheb, father of Sheikh Aziz. The SP stated that the police will give stolen property that recovered to the victims."
