The BJP leader Varun Gandhi was honey-trapped, blackmailed with pictures of him with foreign escorts and prostitutes to reveal crucial information on defense matter, according to the letter sent by an US-based lawyer C Edmond Allen to the Prime Minister’s office.

The letter has also revealed that Varun Gandhi, as a member of Parliamentary Defense Committee was used by the controversial arms dealer Abhishek Verma and was blackmailed to reveal details that were used by the arms manufacturers, who were looking to score business deals in India.

Reacting to it, Varun Gandhi speaking to a leading news channel termed allegations as being ‘ridiculously nonsensical’ and has demanded proofs to substantiate them. He has also added that he has not met Abhishek Verma in past 15 years and had not in fact attended the parliamentary committee meeting that were being referred to.

Abhishek Verma, once a business partner of Edmond Allen was previously jailed and investigated in several cases including, the famous ‘navy war room leak’, through which the naval secrets were sold by an group, that included serving and former military officers.
