MK Stalin Demand Probe Jallikattu Agitation

A day after the Jallikattu agitation stopped in Chennai which had led to huge violence against the Tamil Nadu police force, shouts of calling a commission of inquiry are getting more day by day. Even opposition leader MK Stalin started shouting in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.

But more important was why the end of violence has led to such protests. People demanded that an investigation should be done on whether some rebel members of the police force are also included in arson.

The videos which went viral included one of a policeman setting fire to an autorickshaw. Protestors demanded investigation by a credible, external agency and the forensic to decide on the seriousness of the charge that police acted as criminals.

Jallikattu Agitation

Chennai police commissioner TK Rajendran said, "the video was 'morphed’ and that the charge against the Tamil Nadu police, who acted in the face of severe stress against well-equipped anti-social elements who had clearly planned to act against the cops, was ‘ridiculous’."

The authenticity of the video as well as the Commissioner’s informal release must be investigated by an independent agency to verify the truth. While no one discusses the challenges the police encountered while asking protesters to leave  Marina Beach.
