Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav joined hands with Congress and brought Rahul Gandhi for the election campaign. Though he turned successful in restricting his father Mulayalam Singh Yadav, SP along with Congress could not stop the wave of BJP. BJP has been racing towards some clear majority in the state leading in over 300 constituencies. SP and Congress have been restricted to 63 seats which is quite less.

Now the party supporters along with the activists pointed out Akhilesh Yadav for the defeat. A massive protest started against Akhilesh Yadav and he is asked to give back the powers to his father Mulayam Singh Yadav. He has been trolled on social media for his defeat and Modi mania worked perfectly celebrated BJP activists. SP and Congress alliance under performed after the exit polls predicted that the alliance would get 100-120 seats.
