KT Rama Rao Earns Rs 7.5 Lakh By Selling Ice cream To Raise Party Funds

Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s son, and IT and municipal administration minister K.T. Rama Rao, earned Rs 7.5 lakh, in just couple of hours, for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, by selling ice creams and fruit juice.

No, he has not become an entrepreneur. Rama Rao played teh role of a ”Gulabi coolie”, at an ice cream parlor called Las Vegas at Suchitra Circle, Qutballapur on the Hyderabad-Nagpur National Highway. The motive was to raise funds for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), plenary and formation day celebrations and public meeting, scheduled to be held in Warangal on April 27.

The event at the ice cream parlor, owned by M. Sudhir Reddy, was organized by Quthballapur TRS MLA Vivekanand.

Mr Sudhir Reddy said, “the Minister, spent 45 minutes at the ice cream parlor. He served five icecreams, along with juice at “T Planet”, in the same premises.

Mr Rama Rao sportingly borrowed the dress of the parlor boy, and sold icecreams to MPs Ch. Malla Reddy and Balka Suman, Mayor Ramamohan, MLA Vivekanand Goud, MLC Shambipur Raju, K. Srinivas Reddy and others. Few women also bought ice-creams from him and posed for photos with him. TRS MP Malla Reddy bought the ice-cream for Rs 5 lakh, while Srinivas Reddy donated Rs 1 lakh and the owner Sudhir Reddy gave Rs 1 lakh. At the At fruit juice shop, Rama Rao earned Rs 1.30 lakh with the party leaders, buying the juice from him.

A TRS leader said, “KTR earned Rs 7 lakh in one hour.” Earlier, two days ago, Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy, earned Rs 3 lakh working as a coolie in two industries in Narketpally of Nalgonda district. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to do the coolie work too. Friday was the first day of a week-long programme in which all leaders and cadre of the party will work as “coolies.” KCR announced that “Gulabi (pink) coolie days” will be celebrated from April 14 to 20. He urged every party worker to work for at least two days, to earn the money to meet transportation and other costs. KCR called on the party leaders and workers to raise funds for the party’s foundation day programme. Mr Rama Rao also participated in the Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations at Audaiah Nagar in Secunderabad and other places along with ministers T. Srinivas Yadav, Padma Rao Goud, and Mr Suman among others. A massive public meeting is planned at Warangal on April 27 to mark the formation day of the party.

Rama Rao also announced the pending registration of houses for weaker sections at Audaiah Nagar, Nallagutta and Bhoiguda, will be completed in one week.
