AP Mahanadu Begins In Visakhapatnam Today:- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu has started today the 36th “Mahanadu” of Telugu Desam party (TDP) in the coastal city of Vishakhapatnam.

Since the bifurcation of the state, this is the first time that the TDP is holding two mahanadus - one each in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. On May 24 in Hyderabad, the Mahanadu of Telangana was held.

Tomorrow will be the second day of Mahanadu in Visakapatnam, which will coincide with the birth anniversary of the party’s founder, late NT Rama Rao. The Andhra University Engineering College grounds has been selected as the venue for the annual plenary meeting of the party.

Around 25,000 party cadres including ministers and MLAs of Telugu Desam Party of the two states are expected to attend the event, and about 2000 police personnel have been deployed.

The Congress top leader and former Central Minister Jaipal Reddy, in a fresh turn of events has hinted an alliance with the TDP in Telangana to counter the ruling Telangana Rastra Samiti (TRS).

The YSR Congress party in opposition, while in AP, has began preparing for the election and has employed top poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s Indian Political Action Committee. The TDP leadership too will discuss its strategies any may start early for the election, says sources.
