TS Health Minister Urges Health Care Workers To Rededicate Themselves

TS Health Minister Urges Health Care Workers To Rededicate Themselves:- The doctors and other medical staff in government hospitals, have been urged by the Telangana Health Minister, Dr. C. Laxma Reddy, today, to rededicate themselves to the cause of improving health care services in the State.

Mr. Reddy who was felicitated by Niloufer Hospital staff today, acknowledged the difficulties that the government had to face during the initial days of the State formation.

He said, “We faced numerous difficulties, the first year after the formation. New initiatives were hampered since there was delay in allocation of the IAS officials. But, gradually things have started to fall in place for the State.”

On its part, the state government has started the process of recruitment and improving medical infrastructure, the health care providers in State-run institutions must strive to improve the services, pointed out Mr. Laxma Reddy.

He further added that, “We had made elaborate plans to rebuild Telangana during the Telangana agitation, and we are on the right path in rebuilding health care sector. However, unless the health care workers display commitment in improving services, the overall quality will not improve.”

The Minister was felicitated by the hospital officials, following the decision of the State government to recruit close to 560 posts of doctors, staff nurses and grade four employees for the new Intensive care block at Niloufer Hospital.

Niloufer Hospital Superintendent Dr. K. Ramesh Reddy said that the staff recruitment will go a long way in improving the quality of health care at the hospital. Several dignitaries including Nampally legislator, Jaffer Hussain Meraj, MLC, Prabhakar Rao and senior staff from hospital were present at the felicitation.
