Director Puri Jagannadh Appears Before SIT In Drugs Mafia Case:- In the sensational drugs case, the ace director of Tollywood, Puri Jagannadh appeared for an interrogation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Excise and Enforcement Department.
Puri was accompanied by his son - Akash and brother-actor Sairam Shankar. The trio reached the Abkari Bhavan in Nampally exactly at the stipulated time - 10am. Puri was later escorted into the investigation room. Special official - Miryalaguda Excise Inspector Srinivas Rao who is assisted by another Excise Inspector Srinivas will question the director.
The interrogation is likely to continue for eight hours. Excise and Enforcement Director Dr. Akun Sabharwal is present in the office, but will not be sitting in the inquiry room throughout the interrogation.
Puri was found on the contact list of the drugs kingpin Calvin Masceranhas who was arrested on July 2. The Excise officials had reportedly found Puri’s number and messages from his phone on several occasions to the drugs dealer. The director is quite famous for his blockbuster movies like Pokiri, Deshamuduru, Chiruta, Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi, Itlu Sravani Subramanyam, Idiot, Rogue, Loafer, Temper, etc.
The interrogation revolves around whether he himself used the drugs procured from the dealer or he shared the pills and powder with others. Actress Charmee, who is also served notices by the Excise department in the case, is believed to be a close associate of the director not only for their movies, but also outside. Puri did more number of movies with Ravi Teja than other heroes and the hero is also figured in the list of suspects. According to officials sources, unless the answers given by the director are satisfactory, he may be further questioned and in extreme possibility, he may also be detained. The team is also taking the help of a psychologist who will be present throughout the process, to ascertain whether his answers are true.
Reportedly, Puri will be asked these 10 questions by SIT.
1. How do you know Kelvin?
2. Why do you celebrate parties only at your home or office?
3. Why did Kelvin and Zeeshan visited your house?
4. How long have you been doing drugs?
5. How or through whom Kelvin supplies drugs to you?
6. How many times do you take drugs in a month?
7. Who used to supply drugs to you before Kelvin?
8. Is it true that you supply drugs to Charmee, Ravi Teja, Subbaraju, Mumaith Khan and other friends of yours?
9. Why don’t you stay in Hyderabad for a few days after taking drugs?
10. Are you ready for blood test? What is your response to the photo proofs in our possession?
The ace director did not make any comment publicly, after his name cropped up in the case. But his son and daughter defended their father saying he did not need any drugs as he is a great creative director. The SIT will interrogate one accused each day for the next 11 days and actress Charmee will appear on Thursday.
