Once Again: Babu Demands Ban On Big Notes:- TDP Chief and AP Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu once again asked the Centre to ban big notes of Rs 2000 and Rs 500 to curb corruption which turned out to be a threat for the nation. During a debate in the state Assembly in Amaravati, Babu suggested cashless transactions and the government should educate the people about them. He reminded that AP has been racing ahead in cashless transactions and he requested the people to make it a habit. Chandra Babu was the chairman of the 13-member committee of Niti Aayog on cashless economy constituted in November 2016.

"I was the first person in India to ban currency notes of high denominations. Now Rs 2000 and Rs 500 turned out to be a threat especially in politics. If those are banned, how many Rs 100 bundles can politicians carry? We have been struggling for developing the state and right before the elections, someone will come with bundles of cash. We are not afraid of such people. We have been making online payments even for welfare schemes and other government initiated programs for a smooth economy. AP has been attracting investors because of low corruption rate" informed Babu during his speech.
