No AP cops for Telangana Poll Duties: The Telangana Assembly has been dissolved eight months in advance and the Assembly polls are scheduled to take place on December 7th. Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar clarified that no cops or officials from Andhra Pradesh would be deployed for the duties on Telangana elections. There have been several allegations and speculations about this after which Rajat Kumar called them fake.

However he clarified that forces from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, Kerala and Tamil Nadu will be deployed for the polls. "AP cops are Telugu speaking and there is a chance to interact with the locals and other people. Hence we requested cops from the neighboring states" said Rajat Kumar. There have been several allegations on cops after both the states exchanged words ahead of the Telangana polls. To prevent controversies, the Election Commission took this decision. The results of the Telangana polls would be out on December 11th.
