India's Unemployment Rate Reaches All Time High:- India’s unemployment rate rose to all time high during 2017-18 as per the report from the Business Standard newspaper. The survey came as a shock before the country is heading for polls in the next three months. The assessment has been conducted as per National Sample Survey Office conducted this survey between July 2017 and June 2018. The survey showed that the unemployment stood at 6.1% which is the highest since 1972-73 reported Business Standard.
Soon this survey took a political turn after the acting chairman and a member submitted their resignations citing that there was a delay in the release of the report. PC Mohanan, the Head of National Statistical Commission revealed that he is unhappy with the non-publication of jobs data. Business Standard said that the unemployment is 7.8% and has been high in urban areas when compared to rural areas which is 5.3%. Though Modi promised lakhs of jobs, most of the youth have been left unemployed as per the survey done by the Business Standards.
