TTD Announces Rs 3116 Crores Budget For Tirumala Temple:- Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) is overlooking the prestigious Venkateswara swamy temple in Tirumala. They unveiled the budget of Rs 3116 crores for the year 2019-20 and they are said to expect a cash offerings of Rs 1231 crores from the quoted amount. TTD Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav said that the ticket sales will fetch Rs 292 crores and TTD will be pocketing Rs 270 crores through laddu sales. On an average, 3 lakh laddus are sold per day and Rs 100 crores are earned through other offerings. Rs 625 crores is being spent on the salaries of the employees who work in the temple premises.

The TTD's annual budget was Rs 2858 crores for 2017-18 and the earnings of the temple for the year 2018-19 are said to be Rs 2894 crores. The Hundi offerings alone brought Rs 1156 crores. A legal battle is on cards if TTD falls under the Right of Information Act but TTD clarifies that it is not a public authority. BKSR Ayyangar, had filed an RTI application with the Prime Minister's office in 2017 requesting for the information of the ornaments and other valuables donated to the temple that went missing.
