Mumbai Rains Death Toll Reaches 35: City on High Alert:- The heavy and unstoppable rains in Mumbai brought normal life to a standstill. 21 people have been killed due to heavy rains in Mumbai and the death toll reached 35 in Maharashtra. The transport facilities have been badly affected due to these rains. The last 24 hours witnessed a record rainfall in the city. A wall collapsed in Malad which killed 21 and injured 78 people. This is the highest rainfall received in the city from the past 14 years.

Mumbai received heavy rainfall of 375.2mm yesterday as per the reports from IMD. Hundreds of flights have been canceled and the passengers had to wait in the airport for further updates. The train and bus services too took a toll on the commuters because of the heavy downpour. Several flights have been diverted to the nearest airports and several other flights have been delayed by hours. Schools, colleges and government organizations have been given holidays.

The metrological department said that Mumbai will receive heavy rainfall in the next two days. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is closely monitoring the situation and the army, navy are carrying out the rescue operations.
