Smuggling Don Gangi Reddy Granted Bail:- Smuggling don Gangi Reddy who hails from Kadapa district has been granted bail. Gangi Reddy happened to be the prime accused in Alipiri blast case that attacked AP ex-Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu. Gangi Reddy has been accused in over 31 cases and he was granted bail recently. Gangi Reddy has been facing charges in 26 cases related to red sandalwood smuggling. Gangi Reddy has been released from Kadapa Central prison. After YSRCP formed government in Andhra Pradesh, Gangi Reddy has been granted bail.

After TDP took charge in 2014, the hunt for Gangi Reddy was huge and he was nabbed in Mauritius. Red Corner notice has been issued and Interpol was assisted to help the government nab Gangi Reddy. He was brought to the state in 2015 and he was residing in Kadapa jail since then. Gangi Reddy hailed from a criminal background. He committed murder when he was 22-years-old and was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1998. In 2004, he was out on parole and flew from the country. Despite of having a number of cases, Gangi Reddy's bail petition was not opposed.
