Progressive Scheme ‘YSR Vahana Mitra’ For Auto & Taxi Drivers Launched By Jagan:- To live a quality life, this scheme focuses on giving auto and taxi drivers Rs 10,000 as an annual incentive. On Friday, in Eluru town of West Godavari District, Jagan Mohan Reddy(The Chief Minister Of Andhra Pradesh) launches the ‘YSR Vahana Mitra’ a scheme to help the auto drivers and the taxi drivers who own their own cars, improve their living by granting them an annual cash of Rs.10,000.

Jagan said “ With the daily earnings of Rs 200 to Rs 500, you people have told me that it was becoming difficult to run the family and meet other vehicle expenses. The YSR Vahana Mitra scheme will provide Rs 50,000 to self-employed drivers in the next five years.”

What is ‘YSR Vahana Mitra’ Scheme?

During elections, Jagan Mohan reddy had given his word and gets the credit to initiate this scheme in order to cater to the financial needs of auto, bus and taxi drivers. The Government of AP has sanctioned 400 crores on this and Rs.10,000 will be provided to all the drivers every year. Department of Transport, Government of AP will take charge of keeping an eye on this scheme.

The applications for the scheme will be open until month end for the one’s who could not apply it on time. This scheme is open until November in case there are new vehicles.

Important Details About The Scheme

- There is a difference in the estimated applicants and the number of existing participants.

- 1,73,102 drivers are qualified as beneficiaries out of Out of 1,75,352

- LSM Ramasree, the Joint Transport Commissioner mentioned that there was a difference in calculating for vehicle registration and driving licenses for owner-cum drivers. “We even relaxed the rules, allowing for those whose vehicles have been registered in another family member’s name, like their mother of wife, to apply,” she said.

Kanti - Velugu is the next welfare scheme that will be launched on October 10th.
