Maharashtra Politics: BJP May be Forced to Sit in Opposition:- In a shocking move, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) turned down the invitation of the Governor to form the government in the state. With the move, BJP is the single largest party that is forced to sit on the benches of the opposition. BJP leaders also said the party had no option but to throw the ball in Sena’s court. The deadline is fixed as 7.30 PM by today and Shiv Sena has been asked to step further. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari asked Shiv Sena if they are ready to form the government after the surprise move of BJP. The Governor's office sent a letter to Shiv Sena's Legislative Party leader Eknath Shinde.

Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray will announce the party's decision today said Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena leader. Shiv Sena has just 57 MLAs out of the 288 member house. Though BJP and Shiv Sena wanted to form the government, Shiv Sena wanted Chief Minister's chair. Former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held core committee meeting twice in his official residence yesterday. BJP Chief Amit Shah joined the meeting through video conference to discuss about their next move. There are talks that Maharashtra will head for President's rule if no party proves their majority. Congress refused to open about the present moves and is silently watching the game.
