Chikkudu Prabhakar, the petitioner said that Telangana government already started the process of privatising 5100 routes in the state.
The High Court said that the government is in talks but the process is not yet initiated. The High Court bench said that the Telangana Government has no option but to follow the procedure as per Section 102 of the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act-1988 if the process of privatisation commences. The government of Telangana has to give an opportunity of hearing to any person likely to be affected by privatisation. An official Gazette should issue a notification on the privatisation in the regional language newspapers about the same.
