New Twist in Maharashtra Politics: Devendra Fadnavis Turns Chief Minister:- The Maharashtra politics took several unexpected turns after no party could get a complete majority in the state. After Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress joined hands to form the government collectively, in a surprising move, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis took oath for the second time as Chief Minister today. Ajit Pawar from NCP took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. The event took place in Raj Bhavan, Mumbai today in the presence of Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
"People had given us a clear mandate, but Shiv Sena tried to ally with other parties after results, as a result, President's rule was imposed. Maharashtra needed a stable govt, not a 'khichdi' government" said Fadnavis. "Congratulations to Devendra Fadnavis ji and Ajit Pawar ji on taking oath as the CM and Deputy CM of Maharashtra respectively. I am confident they will work diligently for the bright future of Maharashtra" congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "There is a consensus that leadership of the government will be with Uddhav Thackeray," said Ajit Pawar.
