Pawan Kalyan Asks About Government Imposing Taxes On Hindu Temples:- A video of Chilkur Balaji temple high priest Rangarajan went viral all over after actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan shared it on his social media handle. The video byte is the question of Rangarajan to AP Government. He said that he was not against YSRCP Government enhancing the financial assistance to Haj and Jerusalem pilgrims. He questioned the state governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on collecting 23.4% taxes on the income of the Hindu temples. He also said that apart from this, money is also taken away from the temples for the Archaka Welfare Fund and other purposes.

Rangarajan questioned why no such taxes are collected from churches and mosques. "Why are taxes only collected from Hindu temples? As per Article 26 of the Constitution, the government has no right to collect taxes from the spiritual organizations" questioned Rangarajan. Pawan Kalyan referred to the same asking why the governments are forcing temples to collect taxes. Telugu states governments are collecting 23.4% taxes which include 15% of endowment administration tax, 2% of audit fee and 2% of the common good fund.
