Pervez Musharraf Sentenced Death Penalty in High Treason Case:- Former Pakistan President and ex-Military ruler Pervez Musharraf was sentenced to death today in the high treason case by a special court in Pakistan. Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth along with a three-member bench revealed their decision in the case which has been pending from several years. Pervez Musharraf has been facing allegations of suspending the constitution and imposing emergency rule in the country in November 2007. 76-year-old Pervez Musharraf has been residing in Dubai from March 2016 and never returned back to Pakistan.

Pervez Musharraf was booked after former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif initiated the case and the trial was pending since 2013. Pervez Musharraf was declared absconding after he failed to appear before the court. Pervez Musharraf was repeatedly summoned after which the court issued a directive to Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) to arrest him. Pervez Musharraf is yet to respond about the court's sentence.
