AP Government Seeks Rs 1000 Refund From Amma Vodi Scheme:- The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jaganmohan Reddy announced and implemented the Amma Vodi scheme through which Rs 15,000 is deposited for the parents who have a girl child who is going to school. The amount has been deposited to the accounts of the beneficiaries early this year. The AP Government issued a fresh order for the teachers to take the initiative to collect Rs 1000 from all the parents who received the amounts. Rs 1000 will be collected back to maintain the sanitation of toilets in government schools across the state. An amount of Rs 400 crores is expected to be collected from the 41 lakh beneficiaries.

Vadrevu Chinna Veerabhadrudu, Commissioner of School Education Department issued the order regarding the same. Chinna Veerabhadrudu said that the government is appealing to all the parents to contribute their part to the schools of their children. The amount should be collected by the teachers and should be transferred to the DEO's account. The DEO will use these donations for sanitation. Some of the parents are not accepting the appeals of the teachers.
