No Passport For The Corrupted Says Government:- The Indian government stepped out with an interesting move saying that the government employees who are corrupted, those who are under suspension or granted sanction of prosecution over corruption charges will not be issued a passport. The Personnel Ministry in consultation with the Central Vigilance Commission and the Ministry of External Affairs took the call. For all those government officials who are applying for a new passport should have to check the vigilance clearance.

The orders have been issued by the Personnel Ministry to the Secretaries of all the Central government departments across the country. If an officer is suspended and is facing charges of corruption, his vigilance clearance can be withheld. If the government employee is involved in a criminal matter, his vigilance clearance will be kept on hold. All the departments have been asked to check thoroughly before issuing the clearance.

The passports can also be refused if the applicant has been issued a warrant or summons in any case in the Indian court.
