Union Cabinet Slashes Salaries And MPLAD Funds:- The coronavirus is expected to have a huge impact on society and it brought a huge financial crisis all over. The Union Cabinet today decided to slash down the salaries and the decision has been taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. All the salaries of Ministers and Parliamentarians will have a pay cut by 30% for one year because of this coronavirus crisis. The Union Cabinet also decided to suspend the MP Local Area Development Funds for the next two years and all these amounts would be transferred into the government's consolidation fund.

The expected amount under MPLADS for the country for two years is said to be Rs 7900 crores. Union information and broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar said that there would be 30% cut in the salaries of President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and governors of all the Indian states. The Union Cabinet already approved the proposal. This would come into effect from April 1st and will be applicable for one year. Even the allowances and pensions too would be cut by 30%. All the state governments announced salary cuts already for the government staff along with MLAs and ministers along with other leaders.
