Hike In Liquor Prices By 25% In Andhra Pradesh:- The coronavirus cases status in Andhra Pradesh has not been satisfactory and the number of positive cases has been going up every single day. Andhra Pradesh government at this time decided to increase the prices of liquor by 25% and to reopen the retail liquor stores that are run by AP Beverages Corporation. The government already gave their nod to reopen the distilleries that produce alcohol in the state. After the relaxed guidelines are issued by the Union Home Ministry, AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that the liquor sale will resume in Andhra Pradesh and with higher prices. The price hike will bring extra revenue for the state which is in deep financial crisis.
The liquor stores in Andhra Pradesh will open from today and the government issued strict guidelines to take precautionary measures at the stores right from social distancing to the wearing of masks. The shop owners and their helpers should follow all the precautionary measures informed the government of Andhra Pradesh. YS Jagan also asked the people not to rush to the borders as they are just open for migrant workers to return back to their homes. 1583 cases have been reported in Andhra Pradesh to date and the state conducted 1,14,937 tests to date. The government said that they are conducting 7000 to 8000 tests on a regular basis in Andhra Pradesh from the past one week.
