After Vizag Accident, Telangana To Inspect All The Chemical Factories

After Vizag Accident, Telangana To Inspect All The Chemical Factories:- All the 36 chemical factories in Telangana will undergo a thorough check that are run on gas. With the coronavirus outbreak, all these chemical factories are under lockdown. The officials will conduct checks to know if there is styrene gas. The Industries and Factories Department of the state will conduct these checks which will take place for three days. Jayesh Ranjan, the Secretary of Industries Department said that they have located 36 factories using industrial gas and they are all medium enterprises that are run on a capital of Rs 50 crores. He said that all the permissions will be verified.

Jayesh Ranjan said that they would keep a track of what these industries are storing. The Telangana Disaster Management team too is alerted after the tragic Vizag gas leak incident. 11 people passed away in the accident and hundreds are hospitalized after the styrene gas got leaked from LG Polymers. In this wake, the Telangana government alerted the officials to conduct the checks before these industries would return back to operations. The government of Andhra Pradesh announced an exgratia of Rs 1 crore for the kin of the deceased. The locals are demanding to close LG Polymers which is situated in RR Venkatapuram.
