Telangana To Fight Against AP On Krishna Waters:- The government of Telangana has decided to fight a legal battle against its neighboring state Andhra Pradesh on the construction of a new project on Krishna river in the Supreme Court. Telangana Chief Minister KCR yesterday held a meeting with the irrigation officials to discuss about the proposals that are prepared by the government of Andhra Pradesh. The AP Government started the new project without consulting the government of Telangana which did not go well with KCR. The Telangana Chief Minister feels that this is against the AP Reorganization Act and is quite furious on the AP government.
The government of Andhra Pradesh issued an order for the utilization of the Krishna water and take up 3 TMC of water by lifting it from the Srisailam project. Telangana government questioned the decision made by AP government without even approaching them or taking the consent of the apex council along with the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB). Telangana government will approach the Supreme Court on this issue to lodge a complaint against AP. As per the AP Reorganization act, any of the Telugu states will have to take the permission from the apex council to construct any new project on the Krishna river. KCR said that the construction of this new project will deprive the share of Krishna water's share for Telangana.
