Coronavirus Scare: Cardless Cash Withdrawals At ATMs:- With the coronavirus scare, the life of everyone came to a standstill. Social distancing and avoiding contact is the need of the hour. A study as per the report in New England Journal of Medicine stated that the coronavirus can stay up to three days on plastic and stainless steel. But all those who are in need will have to reach the ATMs to withdraw the cash. To minimize the contact with the machine and withdraw cash, several major banks are allowing the customers to withdraw cash from ATMs without their debit cards. These transactions come with a limit of Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000.

The limit along with the accessibility depends completely on the bank. Fewer bank ATMs are allowing cardless ATM transactions across the country. The process also varies with the banks. All the customers of SBI, Bank of Baroda and ICICI Bank will have to download the respective bank apps on their mobile. For SBI it is YONO App, ICICI Bank has iMobile app and Bank of Baroda comes with BOB MConnect Plus. The customers can start the transaction through these apps.

After selecting the option of cash withdrawal without card, the customer will enter the amount and the PIN to start the process. A unique pin will be generated by the app which is like an OTP that has limited validity time. You will have to enter this generated PIN on the ATM machine and you can withdraw the cash. Some banks are even offering SMS facility to withdraw the money. Axis Bank subscribers can choose IMT option on ATM to withdraw money.
