India bans 47 Chinese apps: 250 more under the scanner

India bans 47 Chinese apps: 250 more under the scanner:- The Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps last month which came as a rude shock for China. The Indian government now banned 47 Chinese apps citing security reasons. The government of India said that these 47 apps are operating as clones for the banned Chinese apps. The list of all these 47 apps will be released officially soon. As per the new update, 250 more Chinese apps are under scanner and a decision would be taken after the privacy or the security violations are examined.

Applications like Alibaba and PUBG are under scanner. There are talks that some of the Chinese top gaming apps will be banned in the new list that will be announced soon. There are talks that these Chinese applications are sharing the data with the Chinese agencies.

"The Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it's power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps since in view of the information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order" announced the Indian government.
