India may become the worst-hit country due to coronavirus by October

The number of new cases of coronavirus is increasing at a rapid speed in India. The total tally of cases of coronavirus crossed the mark of 45 lakhs by today morning as per the official numbers that are revealed by the Union Health Ministry. A team of researchers from the prestigious BITS Pilani, Hyderabad today said that India will soon become the worst-hit country in the world by next month. India is currently next to the USA in the number of coronavirus cases around the globe. BITS Pilani team analyzed the statistics using advanced learning techniques, said Dr TSL Radhika of the Department of Applied Mathematics, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad.

Their recent study was published in the 'International Journal of Infectious Diseases'. India is expected to cross the USA in the number of cases by the first week of October. The total number of cases in India are expected to cross 70 lakh by the first week of October. Dr TSL Radhika says that the final figure may vary as per the records of the number of tests conducted in the country by that time. The research team of BITS Pilani are also working on a new refining model on advanced machine learning techniques to predict the number of cases for a longer time. The vaccination for coronavirus will not be available this year as per the current updates. The total number of cases in the world crossed 2.8 crore mark. The recovery rate in India is over 77.8% as per today.
