Telangana to get Record Paddy Yield this year:- The Telangana government is focused on farming and supporting the farmers which is expected to yield exceptional results for the farmers. The state is all set to establish new records in paddy production. The state is expected to get 1 crore tonne in a single season for the first time in Telangana. A whopping yield of 1.25 crore tonnes is expected during this ongoing Kharif season. Last year, the state got 91.74 lakh tonnes and it is expected to be 33.36 lakh tonnes more when compared to Kharif season last year.
As per the reports from the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, around 1.25 crore tonnes of paddy will be produced this year in 52.77 lakh acres of cultivation land in this Kharif season. The production of paddy crossed one crore tonnes including the two seasons last year. But for the first time, Telangana is getting over a crore tonne in a single season. This is all because of the irrigation facilities along with the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. After milling the same, 83.66 lakh tonnes of rice is expected in the state. The total production of food grains is said to be 97.8 lakh tonnes and the yield of non-food grains is said to be 58.78 lakh tonnes.
Telangana Chief Minister KCR announced that the state government will purchase the entire paddy yield during the monsoon sason at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
