At least 30 People Killed Due to Rains in Telangana:- Telugu states received exorbitant rains from the past three days which killed over 30 people only in Telangana. Hyderabad city never received such huge rainfall and life came to a standstill in low-lying regions of the city. The Tuesday rainfall is said to be the highest in Hyderabad in the last 117 years as per the reports from the Indian Meteorological Department officials. It was in October 6th, 1903, Hyderabad received 117.1 mm of rainfall and on Tuesday, it was 191.8 mm. The power supply was disrupted because of the unrooted trees across the city. The cellphone connectivity too was disturbed. Telangana government along with the NDRF and the cops carried out the rescue operations in the city.
Almost 8000 people have been shifted on Wednesday from the low lying regions. The water flow continues to be high in some of the regions and things would return back to normal by this weekend. The rain continued in most of the regions of the city yesterday. 19 people died in GHMC limits and 11 people passed away in the other parts of Telangana due to the heavy rains. Many streams and rivers are in full spate and overflowed because of the heavy inflows. The government of Telangana lifted the gates of most of the projects.
The entire administration system is kept on high alert and relief activities are going on. All the people living in the low lying areas are evacuated. Half of the Tolichowki region in the city is completely submerged. There is no proper channel to discharge the rainwater because of which the flow continued on Wednesday. Thursday started on a better note. As per the reports from the TSSPDCL, 686 feeders are damaged because of the heavy rains. Some of the regions are still waiting for power supply yo resume.
