TDP Supremo and ex-Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu staged a protest in Amaravati today along with the opposition parties marking one year of Amaravati protests by the farmers. The locals and farmers of Amaravati have been protesting against the Andhra Pradesh government not to shift the capital from Amaravati. The agitation completed one year. The cops stopped Chandra Babu Naidu's convoy when Babu was on his way for the meeting. He protested on spot and walked to the place where the foundation stone was laid for Amaravati.

To stand as a support for the farmers, Chandra Babu along with the crucial TDP leaders reached Rayapudi. Several TDP leaders are house arrested in advance and are restricted from coming out from their homes a day before the protest. The cops are all over in and around Amaravati and imposed several restrictions. A high tension atmosphere was surrounded all over after Chandra Babu's convoy was stopped at Velagapudi. Chandra Babu along with other leaders protested and walked on foot to the place where the foundation stone for Amaravati was laid. He said that the protests would be intensified in the coming days. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy responded to this saying it is a real estate agitation and it is not for the farmers.
