14,199 New Cases of Coronavirus Reported in India:- The tension of the second wave of coronavirus is back in the country after a steady rise of the number of cases in the states of Maharashtra and Kerala from the past couple of weeks. There are speculations that the states would head for a lockdown if the cases continue to rise in this week. A total number of 14,199 new cases of coronavirus are reported in the country in the last 24 hours and the total tally of cases reached 10,05,850. The total number of recoveries in India are 1,06,99,410 and the death tally stands at 1,56,385 after 83 new deaths are reported in the country in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate in India is at 97.22 percent and the fatality percent is at 1.42. The number of active cases in the country are increased to 1,50,055.
Maharashtra Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal is tested positive for coronavirus today. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced that the state would head for a lockdown very soon. He urged everyone to wear masks without fail. The state reported 7000 new cases in the last 24 hours which happened to be the biggest jump in the last three months for the state. Maharashtra also crossed 21 lakh coronavirus cases in the state till date. Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh are on high alert after the rise in the number of cases. These comprise of 1.36 percent of the total caseload. As per the reports from the Indian Council of Medical Research, the total samples tested in India till date are 21,15,51,746 and the samples tested yesterday are said to be 6,20,216. The global tally of cases around the globe reached 10.94 crores and the deaths are said to be 24.16 lakhs. The USA which happened to be the most impacted country due to coronavirus is nearing 5 lakh deaths due to coronavirus.
