A major setback to Telangana government in Hafeezpet lands case:- It was a major setback for the government of Telangana and the Waqf board after the High Court ruled out the 140 acres of land in Hafeezpet located in Rangareddy district. The High Court said that the entire land is private land saying that the registration/revenue officials cannot stop the registration of the land. As per the experts, the value of the land is said to be Rs 4200 crores as one acre is priced at Rs 30 crores. Three petitioners Katikaneni Praveen Kumar, Sai Pavan Estates and a few others filed a petition in the High Court and the case was pending for some time. The High Court asked the government of Telangana and Waqf Board to independently pay Rs 50,000 to each of the petitioners over the mutation of 50 acres.

Praveen Kumar was recently kidnapped by Andhra Pradesh former minister Bhuma Akhila Priya and her aides over the land issues in Hafeezpet. Telangana government and Waqf Board claimed the rights over the land in the survey number 80 located in Serilingampally Mandal. Justice MS Ramachandra Rao and Justice T Vinod Kumar revealed that the land does not belong to the Telangana government or the Waqf Board and they called it private land. The court also said that the action of the Waqf board is against natural justice and is against Wakf Act. The High Court also asked the government of Telangana to delete all the unlawful entries that are made by the revenue officials in their records.

The High Court asked the government to divide the land in the named survey numbers and prepare a settlement deed and mutate the names of Praveen Kumar along with others.
