Tragic: 11 die in Tirupati hospital due to oxygen disruption:- Eleven coronavirus patients passed away in Ruia Hospital in Tirupati after there is a delay in the oxygen supply. Though the official reports say that 11 people passed away, a source said that more than 20 patients died due to the tragedy in the ICU ward. There was a delay of oxygen arrival for 45 minutes. Around 1100 people are admitted and are being treated in Ruia Hospital, Tirupati. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy ordered a high-level probe in the incident and he is likely to pay his visit to the hospital today. The district Collector Harinarayanan blames the doctors and their negligence for the incident. There was a drop in the oxygen pressure and before the oxygen cylinders reached the hospital, the tragedy took place.
The second wave of coronavirus gripped the nation already and thousands are losing their lives on a regular basis. Most of the deaths took place due to the shortage of oxygen across the country. The exact number of casualties will go high as per the records. The government claimed that there would be disruption in the supply of oxygen and the tragedy took place right during this time. The supply was disrupted for 25 minutes. There are 135 ICU beds along with 400 oxygen beds in the hospital along with other facilities. The oxygen tank with a capacity of 10,000 litres turned empty in the hospital and the tanker was on its way from Tamil Nadu.
The health condition of ICU patients deteriorated and 11 people passed away. Several videos surfaced on social media of patients lying lifeless on the beds and their family members crying with pain. AP Health Minister Alla Nani spoke to the district officials and is monitoring the situation. The oxygen supply was restored soon but the tragedy took place.
