Gap Between Two Doses Of Covishield To Be Reduced:- The Indian government increased the gap between the two doses of the coronavirus vaccine Covishield after three was huge scarcity for the vaccination in the market. With a lot of doses available, the Centre is now in plans to reduce the duration from 12-16 weeks now. The suggestion has been given by the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM). This is an organization that is working with the health sector of the country. IAPSM revealed that the news reached the Centre and the matter is considered by the government of India. As of now, 59 crore doses of vaccinations are administered and the drive is happening at a fast pace.

The gap between the doses of Convishield will be reduced to 8-12 weeks. This will help the people to get both the doses of the vaccination at the earliest and it will reduce the risk of infection among the vaccinated people. IAPSM also revealed that all those who took both the doses of coronavirus vaccine are at a lower risk of infection when compared to those who have taken a single dose of the vaccine. The health experts revealed that the risk of infection got increased due to the spread of the delta variant in the country. The Centre also granted approval for several other vaccines and the vaccination for children too is expected to be available from October. The experts are warning of a possible third wave of coronavirus in September and October in the country.
