Etala Calls Huzurabad Victory A Tight Slap For KCR:- Leaving many in shock, Etala Rajendar won the Huzurabad bypoll with a majority of 24,000 votes despite of huge efforts made by the leading TRS in the constituency. The counting formalities completed last night and BJP celebrated the victory on a huge note. Etala Rajendar registered his seventh victory in a row as MLA in Telangana. He registered a majority of 24,109 votes against Gellu Srinivas Yadav from TRS. It all started after Etala was sacked from the position of the Telangana's Health Minister after his name surfaced in a land scam issue. Etala also submitted his resignation as MLA and walked out of TRS challenging KCR. After some intense war of words exchanged, the constituency headed for a bypoll. Etala called his victory a tight slap for KCR's face when he spoke after the final results were declared.
Etala Rajendar won from TRS for six times and won for the first time from BJP. Etala secured a total number of 1,06,782 votes while Yadav secured 82,712 votes. Congress candidate managed to get just 3012 votes. Etala said "My victory is a big slap on the face of KCR and the people of Huzurabad saved the democracy in the state". Telangana Minister T Harish Rao has been responsible for the polls and he camped in the constituency for four months. KTR responded after the defeat saying "Would like to thank & applaud the tireless efforts of @trsharish Garu, @Koppulaeshwar1 Garu @GKamalakarTRS Garu and all the MLAs & TRS party leaders & cadre who have toiled hard in Huzurabad. Also would like to thank the social media warriors who’ve been relentless in the campaign".
